Kill Bill Vol. 1 was hugely influential on me, helping ignite my passion for filmmaking. While it had received plenty of love in the alternative poster space, I felt there was still room to explore what the title had to offer.

Saniose’s prior work demonstrated that he had not only passion, but a seemingly infinite well of patience. Not only were his character renderings nearly photo real, but they were placed in equally detailed environments. The prospect of him doing Kill Bill excited me immediately, as nobody with his artistic sensibilities had made a poster for it before.

Our poster focuses on the final confrontation between the Bride and O-Ren at the House of the Blue Leaves. While O-Ren resides mostly out of frame, her presence is felt from her blade. Beatrix stands battle-ready, a clear trail of blood in her wake. I liked the idea of an extra bloody variant full of easter eggs, which Saniose delivered on better than I ever imagined.
